National Key Account Manager – Modern Trade

Our client is a leader in the distribution sector, representing a large number of well-known global brands. We are looking for a National Key Account Manager for the Modern Trade channel. This position will be the front-line contact between the company and the International Key Accounts for food category. The job is based in Bucharest and has national coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy for Modern Trade channel for all food portfolio brands;
  • Build a sales strategy, sales plans, targets and budget for part of the Modern Trade channel;
  • Ensure financial indicators achievement, focus on P&L and ROI; monitoring of sales data, proposing improvement areas;
  • Coordinate contract negotiations & annual agreements; create and maintain a high level of relationship with food suppliers and retailers;
  • Focus on growing and developing existing clients, together with generating new business;
  • Continuous market analysis and research on the dynamics of the accounts and competition;
  • Propose solutions to optimize activity and solve the arising problems in business; Manage conflict situations and come up with effective solutions;
  • Build the yearly trade marketing strategy and implementation, to ensure flawless implementation of the agreed activities, in cooperation with Business Unit Managers; design and implement specific tailor-made activities for MT; develop Category Management projects; promotional plan, incentive plan with clear objectives and profitability targets in line with company & brand strategy;
  • Guide and support Key Account Managers team to achieve the targeted objectives; set up the quantitative and qualitative objectives for Key Account team members.

Desired experience & skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in related field or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Sales, ideally in Modern Trade channel; minimum of 1 year of experience in Sales leadership role in a FMCG company, with proven team management exposure;
  • Business and results oriented; Experience in establishing and implementing sales targets and motivating people to achieve the targets;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to succeed in an ever-changing environment; strong team player;
  • Highly flexible, organized and effective time management, ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel; used to complex reporting tasks;
  • Fluency in English language.
